See Indiana transformed: The saved acting like it.
Core values: evangelism, discipleship, and leadership
A strategy of training and developing leaders (about 5,000)
Dave-establishing a discipling/mentoring ministry in every church (about 5,000 churches)
Scott Dean-church planting; desire Jesus to be magnified; life passion for reaching the lost; that the Gospel would go out; Awaken the saints, America is a sleeping giant.
Neil Cox-these are goals for every church ministry; we need to do it together, collaborate together. Believe the internet to be the cheapest and fastest medium.
B. Presentation by Kelsey Stewart
Kelsey was touched by the Lord two years ago while living in Boston with a passion and desire for the saving of souls. The Lord wants to open the eyes of His saints.
First item is prayer. We began this part with group prayer.
Shared Isaiah 51:7-16 (NASB), set the tone for his presentation.
Vs 7, Listen…, do not fear the reproach of man,
Vs 9, Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord…
Vs 14, The exile will soon be set free…
Vs 16, …I have put My words in your mouth…
We read through a list of “Self-Limiting Beliefs in People”
What is working today in evangelism?
One on one
Churches have outreach programs
Billy Graham and others have crusades
Gospel preaching from the pulpits
Christian TV
The Internet
What is not working?
People and time commitment restraints
Saints are defeated
Saints are not trained, prepared to share their faith
The efforts of the church are splintered, divided by denominations, and individual congregations.
Kelsey’s vision involves three parts:
Salvation of the lost (using 20 appropriate scriptures verses)
Service-the saints getting into the pastures
Growth
The Plan evolves around the following:
Selecting a pasture, a well-defined neighborhood.
A uniting or bonding of neighborhood churches across denominational boundaries.
An agreement among the churches to essential evangelical belief statements, avoiding secondary issues.
The churches, pastors, are the key to success. No single church will satisfy the neighborhood community.
Approved churches will provide the “Lords Flock” to go into the neighborhood to evangelize and serve.
The churches will have “discipling” programs or strategies to teach the new converts.
The churches will have “nets” of loving and caring people to capture the new people attending their services.
There will be a Commitment Class to train the “Lord’s Flock”
A twelve-week class commitment for graduation
Scripture memorization
Prayer and accountability
Motivation
A commitment to prayer, and core values
“The Lord’s Flock” also includes an army of persons organized to collect foodstuffs, clothing from homes and churches, and distribute to the needy, both families and churches. Eventually “The Lord’s Flock” retail outlets could be established. This group would also know where the elderly are located, sick children, all kinds of needs.
C. Kelsey has previously met with the Fisher’s Association of Pastors; about nine pastors were in attendance. His reception was somewhat mixed meaning to get your army together and we will jump on the bandwagon. Basic recommendation was to establish a pilot area for a model.
D. Next Meeting:
