Meeting Notes 9/19/02
The September meeting was held at Second Reformed Presbyterian Church from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, with the following men in attendance: Eldon Kibbey, Neil Cox, David Putman, Steve Ellson, Bob Amon, Gary Kirschman, and Rich Johnston.
Ray Childers was in South Carolina, but had talked with State Representative Jim Atterholt, who said that he was very supportive of what we are doing, and would help in any way that he could.
We distributed a draft of the “Transform Indiana Statement of Faith,” and asked that any suggestions or revisions should be sent to Eldon Kibbey for consideration.
We read and discussed, “Living in a Prayed For City,” by Phil Miglioratti, which is available on the Internet thru IndyChristian..com’s Prayer page. There is much in that document that pertains to what we have been sharing over the past few months. We prayed for our city, our state, our neighbors… and about our desire to share the abundant life with them.
We discussed Purpose Statements, and decided that we needed one for our core group, which we could call the Leadership Team, and one for the effort of Transform Indiana.
Leadership Team Purpose (proposed)
We exist to connect Christ-centered leaders, in order to prayerfully develop vision for the transformation of the lives of the people of Indiana, so that strategies and processes for changing our communities can be developed through the love of Jesus Christ.
Transform Indiana
Purpose (proposed)
We exist to have diverse teams of Christ-changed people seeking transformation, through the love of Jesus Christ, of the communities in which they worship, work, and live.
It was agreed that our next step is to invite other leaders to share our Purpose and to meet with us as part of the Leadership Team. We particularly need diverse representation in order for us to be “complete”.
We need to think of leaders of ministries that are already involved in the transformation of lives and communities, or who are interested in transforming communities.
We agreed that our next meeting will be 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. Steve Ellson will check with East 91 Street Christian, to see if we can meet there.
Respectfully submitted
Eldon Kibbey
